Weekend To Do List: June 6, 2008

The summer has officially kicked off, so there is plenty to get into this weekend.

The mercury will race past the 90 degree mark, so here are a few indoor activities to help you keep cool!

Coca-Cola Film Festival at the Fabulous Fox

Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hear A Who – Sunday, June 8 – 2 pm

Kids under 2 are free! Grab the kids and a Coke and enjoy the show.

Atonement – Sunday, June 8 – 7 pm

Leave the little ones at home and enjoy this flick as well as a wine tasting.

Wine tasting tickets are $10.00. 21 and up to attend

High Museum of Art

Fulton Free Saturday – Saturday, June 7 – 10 am

Just show proof of Fulton county residency and gain free entry to the museum.

Houdon at the Louvre: Masterworks of the Enlightenment

The sixth part of the Atlanta Louvre programs examines various works by Jean-Antoine Houdon.

Road to Freedom: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement, 1956-1968

June 7, 2008 – October 5, 2008

This long awaited exhibit takes you on a photographic journey through the Civil Rights Movement. Many photos will make their public debut. The exhibition also highlights key events in the nation’s history.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Martinis and Imax – Friday, June 6 – 6 pm

Enjoy music, cocktails, and dinner along with a spectacular IMAX film presentation.

Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins – Saturday – June 7 – 2 pm

You won’t find a better place to stay cool than at the grand opening of Fernbank’s newest exhibit. Get ready for and adventurous afternoon of family fun, games, and more.
